An offering, an exchange - throughout time rituals have remained a constant, imbued in our everyday lives as routines, repetitive behaviours, and patterns. As recurrent acts, rituals incite concepts of passage and transformation, bringing the past into the present to engage with social, divinatory, and cyclical rhythms. Curated by Charlie Komsic and Sarah Rose, with fragile objects comes devotion considers how artists use ritualism as an intuitive, performative methodology to birth objects and construct shrines of worship; Goodspace Gallery itself becoming a constructed space of devotion, an archive of veneration.

Navigating personal and collective mythologies – both private and publicly facing – Sydney-based artists Emma Carr, Sebastian Conti, Syzmon Dorabialski, Lara Dziggel, Zane Edwards, Emily Galicek, Gianna Hayes, Rachel Ramsis Farag, Monica Rani Rudhar, and Billie Robertson, explore the complexities of rituals as a way of connecting with a new understanding of the future, through a provocation of new perspectives of a fragmented present. The exhibition considers how we permeate precious items with energies as an act of contrition, connectivity and healing; the longing for someone, something or somewhere to restore, preserve, and transcend.
